The Pharmacy Development Unit

The Pharmacy Development Unit (PDU) is based at the University of Leeds and was formed in February 2004. The Unit is run in partnership with the Pharmacy Practice and Medicines Management Group at the University of Leeds and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and reports to the Yorkshire and NE Lincolnshire Pharmacy Education and Training Committee.
The aims of the unit
The unit to develops the strategic direction for education, training and continuing professional development for Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants and other support staff across Yorkshire and the Humber. This is achieved via a variety of methods: including the development of training manuals and workbooks, study day programmes and workforce strategic planning events.
Resources and materials
There are many resources available on the PDU -led Medslearning website, which are freely accessible to all pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals. Materials range from medicine management study packs, pharmacy calculation exercises and an interactive programme to assist professionals who work with clients who substance misuse.
