Erasmus and electives

We have formal Erasmus links with Copenhagen, Jyvaskalan (Finland), Madrid  and Orebro (Sweden) so there are opportunities in these places for students. Normally Erasmus study periods are for twelve weeks and these attract European Union funding. Shorter study periods are possible but these are not funded. Again students need to discuss this with their programme manager in the first instance and then come to see the Academic Lead for Internationalism.

Electives

Students also have opportunities for electives and these differ across programmes. Generally these electives are between two and three weeks long. Students undertaking such electives have travelled to Africa, Australia, Canada, India, South America, and European countries. They have undertaken electives in primary care and hospitals and covered traditional healthcare approaches as well as western approaches to healthcare.

You should discuss this with the relevant programme manager in the first instance, carry out some research and then contact Helen Quinn, the Senior Lecturer in Internationalism.
