International students who are studying for a professional practice degree e.g. nursing, midwifery, radiography and social work can apply to take a clinical placement. However this is subject to availability and in the case of social work a placement fee will need to be paid.

It is better to apply for such placements as early as possible and again if you need help or information please contact the Academic Lead for Internationalism. Previous students have had placements in hospitals and in primary care as well as specialist clinical settings. All these students have learnt a great deal in their placements and have enjoyed the experience.

We have a Practice placements website which you can visit here. International students may need an Occupational Health Clearance and a Criminal Record Bureaux check prior to placement.
