‘About Decision Making’
Changes in the configuration of health and social care provision has led to clinicians and social care practitioners making a wider variety of complex decisions in practice. In our decision making research programme, we focus on exploring how health and social care practitioners make decisions in practice, with a view to developing and evaluating tools that can assist with improving decision making in the future.
The impact of technology on practice and decision making is a further area of interest for the team. The group has many local collaborative links, including those with colleagues in the Institute of Health Sciences, Leeds University Business School, the Institute of Psychological Sciences, NHS Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and NHS North Yorkshire and York.
In addition, the group has national links with UK universities, (including University College London, University of York, University of Manchester, University of Nottingham and Glasgow Caledonian University) and has recently established an international research collaboration on Nursing Infomatics including partners across USA, Canada, Australia and Europe.
