Biographical details,

Hobbies & interests

I am an experienced academic and researcher. I have worked in UK Higher Education since 2000 as lecturer, senior lecturer and course leader for School Nursing, Public Health and Primary Care and have a Masters degree in Public Health. My back ground is nursing and I qualified in 1980 and then specialised in School Nursing and my Honours Degree was in this field.

I have a wealth of experience in teaching, assessing, and managing projects and programmes. I have been fortunate to work at strategic level advising the Department of Health on school health services and I am currently studying for my PhD which is looking at preventative services for children and young people. I am a good team player, and have worked well and effectively with a number of teams within health and education.

All of my publications have been focussed upon improving the health of young people in the UK.

In my spare time I perform in amateur productions - mainly plays and was recently nominated as best actress for my role of Sandra in ‘Brassed Off’ with Otley Little Theatre. I am married with 3 children.
