What this programme is about:
This programme is about developing knowledge and skills amongst Healthcare Practitioners who provide care for the critically ill childbearing woman. The programme will enhance your capability in providing a safe environment for women to receive care as you will be well placed to improve the implementation of evidenced based care; foster collaborative, multidisciplinary working and gain an enhanced understand of specific roles and responsibilities in an emergency. Knowledge of applied pathophysiology will enhance your understanding of care planning and the use of technologies in this context.

Why study this programme:
This programme will suit Healthcare Professionals such as junior doctors, midwives and nurses who are required to work with multidisciplinary teams to care for critically ill childbearing women and women with a complex health status. It would suit you if you have undertaken shortened obstetric training or a midwifery programme which has primarily focussed on normalility or where you have little or no experience of adult intensive care and high dependency care.
