Postgraduate Certificate in Midwifery - PGC-MID-07
What this programme is about:
This programme is aimed at midwives who wish to advance their studies to the postgraduate level. The programme has one core module which will develop your skills in planning research of relevance to the maternity services. This programme has the potential to develop your postgraduate career relating to midwifery and health.
Why study this programme:
The programme will give you the knowledge and skills to positively effect the provision of midwifery care for a woman and her family by way of developing your knowledge and understanding at a postgraduate level. In particular you will become reflexive in a continuously changing environment; be able to synthesise knowledge and utilise knowledge in the midwifery area; be able to internalise knowledge derived from research to re-define practice and re-frame existing boundaries. Indeed the core module will develop your skills in writing a research protocol to challenge existing norms. In addition, there are a range of optional modules which will facilitate development in dimensions such as your transformational leadership skills; ability to manage complex issues from a variety of viewpoints; or be a facilitator of learning.
On completion of these certificates students can progress to diploma and masters level by joining the multidisciplinary MSc in Advanced Practice Programme
