Pre-registration Trainee Pharmaciststrainee pharmcist leeds

The regional programme for hospital based Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacists provides seventeen regional study days including four residential components, where students across the region will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas in a learning environment.

The purpose of the study days is to complement work-based training and to enable students to cover those areas of the GPhC training programme and exam syllabus that are difficult to cover within the hospital training bases. All teachers are drawn from a pool of experts around the region, and are either pharmacists or specialists in their field.

Study days consist of interactive sessions, including small group work and hands-on sessions. The programme includes communication and clinical skills, first aid, ethics and exam preparation. Community pharmacy experience is also organised to enable students to experience at least 2 weeks of practice in this sector.

All trainees are registered with the University of Leeds and are issued with a student card. This allows students access to University facilities e.g., sports centres, libraries and the University union.
