Course title Clinical Physiology Cardiology Year of Study 1st

Why did you choose Leeds?
Leeds was the only university that did the course in England. Plus being an established university with a reputation for excellence, teaching and research was a contributing factor towards making my decision to study at Leeds.

Why did you choose your course?
When I read through the course guide for the first time, it was the only course that I was attracted too. The more I read about what it entailed the surer I was in knowing I wanted to apply. I sent off for some further information about the course in more detail and after reading what each year involved I wasted no time in applying.

What has been the highlight of the course?
So far it's been working in hospital. Reading textbooks about techniques, protocols, this and that is fine, but when you're actually working in hospital alongside qualified Cardiac Physiologists, patients and other professionals it gives you a true representation of the career ahead.

Would you recommend it to other people?
Definitely, though it's not for everyone and its hard work, but if you are interested after reading through the course material then I would suggest getting in touch for more information from the course managers. When people ask you what you do at university the next question they ask is usually ‘What's that?' so when I tell them they seem genuinely intrigued.

What do you plan to do after graduation?
That's three3 years away from now and there is a lot I haven't experienced, but my thoughts are to find a suitable job position in a cardiology department. Maybe even look at job opportunities abroad. I would want to carry on my learning, to become specialised in a specific area of cardiology, who knows.
