Fees and Bursaries
Social work
There are no upfront fees for this course and a loan is available to cover your tuition costs of £9,000, repayable once you earn a salary of £21,000.
Whether you choose a course that costs £6,000 or £9,000 you'll repay the same amount each month, as that purely depends on what you earn (9% above £21,000). You do not pay anything if you are not in employment or earning below £21,000
The social work bursary is available to students ordinarily resident in England and Wales studying on an approved undergraduate course, or an approved postgraduate course. Amongst other eligibility criteria, students must also meet certain residency criteria.
Social Work Bursary
The social work bursary is non-income-assessed, which means that earnings, savings and other sources of income, such as local authority (LA) funding, are not taken into consideration. It includes a basic grant that varies in value, a contribution towards practice learning opportunity-related expenses and tuition fees up to a capped amount. Financial awards are dependent on individual circumstances.
